Performance

Flume conducted performance testing in March 2010:

Server specifications

SuperMicro X5560; 12 Gig Ram; Dual 2.8 GHz; 1.33 GHz DDR3

Latency Measurement

We compute latency by taking the difference between the following two times:

Start Time - the Linux timestamp upon a packet entering the kernel
End Time - When a stub application has read the data from a shared, in-memory database

Data Feeds

For both tests we read the entire Equities feed and process 2,000 securities.
For the Options test we add a fractional (1/4) feed, or 6 channels.
